Kids can win big by decking out their #kicks and #wheels for Walk to School 2018

Want to make your kids’ walk to school a whole lot more colourful?

We’re calling for Victorian kids to decorate their shoes, bikes and scooters to make the journey to school even more fun!

Following the success of last year’s social media competition, we’re thrilled to be running the 2018 Walk to School Facebook competition again for families who share pictures or videos of their kids’ creative shoes, bike and scooter designs.

Get out the glitter, ribbons, paints and let the creativity flow to help your kids create their masterpieces. To go in the competition draw, take a social snap and make sure you tag @WalkToSchool and use the hashtag #WalktoSchool for your chance to win an AFL Jumper signed by your favourite team!

If you can’t commit to permanent decorations, there are heaps of great ways to still get creative without trashing expensive school shoes. Try using pipe cleaners, streamers or ribbons that can all be easily removed! You could even find some fun, colourful ribbons to swap out your shoe laces!

If you haven’t already, check out our useful templates as a starting point available on the #DecorateShoes page and visit our Facebook for past inspiration!

Every October, Walk to School encourages Victorian primary school children to walk, ride or scoot to school. The program is a great way to help kids learn healthy habits and road safety rules. What better way to get kids excited about Walk to School than a creative competition?
