Footy clinics score with local Victorian primary schools for Walk to School!

As we get ready to kick off Walk to School 2018, we’re throwing back to the four awesome Victorian primary schools who took out the top prizes in last year’s program.

Labertouche Primary School, Hampden Specialist School, Carraragarmungee Primary School and Leitchville Primary School stepped up their efforts with a phenomenal 93.95 per cent of students walking, riding or scooting to school during last year’s Walk to School month.

To reward the schools for their effort we sent out five AFL and AFLW footy legends to host footy clinics for the kids.

The clinics were run by footy stars Neville Jetta, Mel Hickey, Darcy Vescio and Jack Viney who showed off their mad skills and gave the kids some amazing AFL merchandise as a reward for their astonishing results.

Walk to School is proud to partner with AFL Players Association again in 2018 to help bring these fun clinics to winning schools across Victoria during this year’s Walk to School program! Could your school take out the top prize this year?

For your chance to win an AFL Footy clinic make sure your school is registered for Walk to School at www.walktoschool.com.au and encourage as many students to walk, ride and scoot to school during October!

Every October, VicHealth’s Walk to School program encourages primary school kids to walk, ride or scoot to and from school.

Last year, almost 150,000 Victorian primary students from more than 750 schools took part in Walk to School. Their combined efforts made up to 1.6 million kilometres in active travel throughout the month of October.
